Curvy Fitness

So if you haven't heard already, we're participating in EIF Revlon's 5K for Women' Cancers. We have lost family due to cancer and our mother is a survivor. Yayy for mommy! This cause is very important to us and should be important to many of you. At some point or another we all know someone affected by cancer so why not run OR walk to find a cure?

I have to be honest here, this 5K has really kicked our fitness into high gear. Not that being curvy isnt fabulous but we'd like to be curvy and still be healthy. We want to encourage you all to take a step for your health. Whether its walking 30 minutes around your neighborhood or taking that Zumba class or even downloading workouts online for free. We love Blogilates. (Seriously, Cassey really knows what she's doing!).

I tend to ramble but yes running. I have a love/hate relationship with running because I'm still a beginner runner and sometimes running for more than 5 minutes is exhausting. I'm training my body right now for this 5K and the wrong running shoes lead to pain in my legs. I suppose this is sort of a review but I purchased these Under Armour Go Running Shoes.

And I LOVE them! They give me the right support where I need it and shock support which is crucial because you don't want to damage your joints. They give me a spring in my step, its bouncy and I like it. Whooo!

If you want to start running remember to invest in good running shoes, even if takes trying on 11 pairs and running around the store. Which I totally did!
Also, remember to start slow. Walk for 5 minutes then run for 1 minute, walk for 1 minute. Wash, rinse and repeat. Do this for a total of 30 minutes. This technique has helped my running and I hope it helps yours!

SKIN CARE'S HIDDEN LITTLE GEM

Dermalogica? Catchy right? I never really heard of this company until FabFitFun tweeted about a free event in Soho! They had us at free! We got to mingle and get FaceMapping and our specialist also recommended products specifically for our skin. We even won a few amazing prizes!

This is one of the kits we won, it contains sample sizes of their best selling line. I loved the consistency so much especially the mositurizer because I have some dehydration in my t-zone.

Of course we couldnt leave without actually purchasing a few of Dermalogica's products. WHICH I NEED TO REPLENISH SOON!

The Gentle Cream Exfoliant is ahhhh-mazing. You only need to use it once a week and its not harsh on the skin like scrubs are and they don't make your skin feel like you just had Botox!
I live, live, live by the Skin Smoothing Cream, its their moisturizer, and I cannot tell you enough how much my skin has transformed.

Now I have always had problems with my skin, in fact a week prior to attending this event, I sought help from a dermatologist who prescribed me all sorts or topical gels for my acne and dark marks. Hyper-pigmentation is not fun.
People who have known me for quite sometime has told me, my skin looks lighter and healthier and clearer. Thank God because I noticed it too. Even my Dermatoglogist noticed.

I urge you guys to at least try the line visit your local Dermalogica location or go online, you can even order sample sizes so you dont have to commit to anything. Be sure to follow FabFitFun on Twitter, they always have tips and tricks to be a better you. You wont regret it.

SPRING TIME - NAIL TIME

Paint all of your nails in a base color; here I am using nude.
  • Let your nails COMPLETELY dry
Use small pieces of tape and put them on your nails as a stencil.
  • Use any shapes you like, this is your maincure.
Take your remaining nail polishes and paint over the stencil.
  • You do not need to repeat the same colors in each nail. Remember to not use a lot of nail polish on the brush.
Once its completely dry, remove the tape. Carefully.
Use a glittered top coat to finish your maincure, this is optional. I like glitter and wanted something fun.
This look is great for Easter or with an spring look. You can always interchange the colors and adjust it to your style. Normally, I would use bold colors.

Attempt your own take on this look and submit to us to be featured!
